Burning Man
August 30 – September 7, 2026 August 29 – September 6, 2027
It’s a week in the Black Rock Desert, where you deal with heat, cold nights, dust storms, and very little regular infrastructure. An RV gives you a more comfortable and practical way to live on the playa.
Your Own Shower and Toilet
No need to rely only on public porta-potties or camp setups. Many RVs come with a private toilet and often a shower, which makes daily life on the playa much more comfortable.
Kitchen, Fridge and Storage in One Place
Food, water, costumes, bikes, tools, chargers, lights, and camp supplies are easier to manage when everything has a place. An RV helps keep your camp life organized.
Easier to live, easier to recover
After a long day or night on the playa, having your own space matters. You can close the door, clean up, eat, recharge devices, and actually rest before going back out.
Your camp works better
An RV can become the center of your camp. It helps create structure, gives your group a shared base, and makes day-to-day life more manageable.
Why Book Your Burning Man RV With Great RV Trip?
Partner Rental Options
We compare RV options across partner rental companies. You get a clear view of vehicle class, pickup city, pricing, and rental conditions — without checking each company yourself.
In many cases, we can offer pricing that is 10−25% lower than public rates from direct rentals or aggregators, and we can also match or beat a better offer if you find one.
Pickup City Comparison
Reno is closest, but not always the best option. Los Angeles, Las Vegas, San Francisco, Sacramento, and Salt Lake City may offer better availability or pricing.
We help compare cities based on distance, cost, and your route.
Real Human Support
We guide you before booking and help you prepare for the playa. Water, tanks, generator use, dust protection, cleaning, return timing — you know what to expect in advance.

What’s the best city to rent an RV in for Burning Man?
When choosing a starting city for your trip to Black Rock City, two key factors should be considered: distance and cost.
Las Vegas and Los Angeles are the most optimal starting points, offering the best balance between distance and rental prices. San Francisco tends to be 20%–50% more expensive on average. Reno is significantly overpriced, costing 2-3 times more than other cities. Phoenix, Denver, and other distant cities offer cheaper rental options, but the savings are offset by high fuel consumption—30 litres per 100 km. These locations are a good choice if you plan to travel before or after Burning Man.
Travelling after the event is especially advantageous since prices tend to drop in September.
Compare Burning Man-Friendly RV Rental Companies
We compare all four rental companies for your dates, pickup city, RV class, and Burning Man requirements. Our partner rates are typically 10−25% lower than public website prices. Final pricing depends on the vehicle, city, dates, insurance, mileage, generator hours, and Burning Man-specific fees.

How are we working?
We have long-standing partnerships with all the mentioned and many other trusted rental companies across the United States. Thanks to significant partner discounts and exclusive conditions, we offer our clients the lowest possible prices. On average, renting through us is 10%–25% cheaper.
Guaranteed Best Prices on the Market If you find a lower price elsewhere, simply send us the offer. We will either beat that price or explain the difference. Often, our prices already include additional options that cheaper offers do not.
Priority Access to Availability A major advantage of booking through GREAT RV TRIP is that we always have options available—even when other rental companies are fully booked.
If you decide to book on your own for any reason, still reach out to us! There's a good chance we can offer you an additional discount, bonus, promo code, or cashback.
Honesty and Transparency First Our core principles are honesty and openness. In rare cases, booking directly with a rental company or choosing another option may genuinely be more beneficial for you. If that happens, we'll honestly explain all the pros and cons to help you make the best decision. This is how we build long-term trust with our clients.
Booking and payment
To reserve an RV for Burning Man, a deposit of $500 is required. Full payment for RV rentals is due 70 days prior to the start of the rental. If the reservation is made less than 70 days in advance, 100% of the cost is paid. When picking up the motorhome at the rental office, you only have to pay a refundable security deposit of $1000-$1500 (depending on the company). Payment of the deposit is made by a bank card issued in the name of the main renter.
When to book
The earlier, the better. Even if your plans change, you can change dates, cities, and models at any time, only with additional payment of the difference in tariffs, if any. In short, the best time to book is NOW. You can even secure your rental for the next year today.

First, familiarize yourself with the types of motorhomes presented.
Class C (alcove) – the most popular model in the middle price segment, fuel consumption is 25-30 liters per 100 km, some models with sliding walls, capacity from 3 to 7 people.
Class C Large – medium-sized motorhomes, have a diesel engine with a consumption of 15-20 liters per 100 km, have slide-outs (sliding walls), capacity up to 6 people.
Class A (house-bus) – the largest motorhomes, considered a premium segment with a corresponding price tag, fuel consumption is 30-40 liters per 100 km, there are slide-outs (sliding walls), capacity up to 6-8 people. Buses have the largest tanks for storing water, which is important on the beach.
For Burning Man, we recommend taking the maximum size, because the more space inside, the greater the comfort. The determining factor in choosing a motorhome can be price.
If in doubt, just contact us, we will choose the best option for you.

Frequently Asked Questions About Burning Man RV Rentals
Booking and choosing an RV
Reno is the closest but often the most expensive. Los Angeles and Las Vegas usually offer more options and better prices, while San Francisco and Sacramento can provide a good balance between distance and availability.
You need an RV from a rental company that officially allows Burning Man trips. Always check the deposit, insurance, cleaning fees, mileage and return conditions before booking.
As early as possible. Availability becomes limited closer to the event, especially in Reno and for larger Class C and Class A motorhomes.
Class C is usually the best option for 2−5 people. Class C Large and Class A offer more space for larger groups, while campervans are easier to drive but have less living space and smaller tanks.
It depends on the offer. Check whether the price includes mileage, generator use, insurance, taxes, preparation fees and any Burning Man-specific charges.
Preparing and Using the RV
Protect the floors and furniture, cover the upholstery and check windows and doors for gaps. Never cover the refrigerator, generator or other essential ventilation openings.
Usually not. Some companies charge a Burning Man or playa fee, but you may still need to protect the interior and prepare the RV yourself.
Keep windows and roof vents closed during windy conditions, use one entrance and leave dusty shoes outside. Keep the awning retracted and external storage compartments closed.
Yes, if the RV includes them. Limit generator use at night, never leave it running unattended and reduce use during dust storms to protect the filters and equipment.
Bring enough fresh water for your group and use it carefully. Paid pump-out services may be available on the playa, but gray and black water must never be dumped on the ground.
Cleaning and Returning the RV
Remove as much dust as possible while it is dry, then clean the interior and exterior. Professional RV detailing is strongly recommended.
The rental company may charge additional cleaning fees or deduct money from your security deposit. The amount depends on the company and the condition of the RV.
RV cleaning services are available in Reno, Sacramento, Salt Lake City, Los Angeles, Las Vegas and San Francisco. Book in advance, as many services fill up after the event.
Life on the Playa
Coverage is unreliable and networks can become overloaded. Download maps, rental documents, contacts and return instructions before entering the playa.
Bike rentals are not available on the playa. Rent or buy one before arrival, arrange transportation and bring lights, a lock and a repair kit.
Petrol-powered bikes and mopeds are not allowed. Class 1 and Class 2 e-bikes are permitted if they meet Burning Man’s current power and speed requirements.
