Lake Como
On the first day, we’ll visit Lake Como — one of the most scenic spots in Italy, surrounded by majestic mountains and charming villages. The lake attracts travelers with its stunning panoramas, historic villas, and opportunities for outdoor activities. You can take a boat ride across the lake, explore ancient villas and their gardens, or simply relax on the cozy terraces of local restaurants, enjoying Italian cuisine and beautiful views.
The journey begins with picking up your campervan at the rental center in Milan. Before hitting the road, you can stop by nearby supermarkets like Lidl, Carrefour, or Esselunga to stock up on groceries. Then, we head toward Lake Como, where you can enjoy lunch with a view of the water and take a walk along the picturesque lakeside promenades.
Points of interest
This famous 11 km walking trail winds through several villages and scenic hills with lake views. It features historic churches and panoramic viewpoints, making it ideal for leisurely strolls. One of the most popular segments is the route from Colonno to Ossuccio.

A short but scenic 1.1 km hiking route to the chapel, perfect for family walks. For those ready for a more challenging climb, the trail continues up to the mountain hut.

Lugano
After breakfast, we head toward Lake Lugano — one of the most picturesque places in Switzerland. Known for its crystal-clear waters and dramatic mountain surroundings, the lake offers numerous scenic viewpoints where you can enjoy breathtaking panoramas. It’s an ideal destination for nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts, with opportunities for hiking, cycling, and water sports. Along the lakeshore, you’ll find cozy cafés and restaurants serving local delicacies. Thanks to its mild climate, Lake Lugano is a great place to visit year-round.

Upon arrival, you can take a short trip to Via Sighignola 36, home to the famous "Balcony of Italy" — a panoramic viewpoint with stunning views over Lake Lugano. For those looking to go even higher, funiculars are available to take you up Monte Brè and Monte San Salvatore, offering spectacular views of the lake and the Alps. After your walk, enjoy lunch at a local restaurant and settle into a lakeside campsite for the night.

Known as the "Balcony of Italy," this short 4 km hike includes a 108 m elevation gain and leads to a panoramic viewpoint offering stunning views of Lake Lugano and the surrounding mountains. It's a perfect spot for a short walk and a scenic photo session amidst alpine landscapes.
This 912-meter mountain offers breathtaking views of Lake Lugano and the Alps. On clear days, you can even spot Milan and Monte Rosa. It's a popular tourist destination, well-known for its hiking trails and panoramic lookout point.
At 925 meters above sea level, Monte Brè is one of the sunniest mountains in Switzerland. It offers spectacular views of Lake Lugano and the Ticino valley. The area is famous for its scenic panoramas and vibrant cultural scene.
Lugano, Lucerne
On day 3, we continue exploring Lugano. You can visit Monte Generoso or any other spot from the previous day that you might have missed. In the afternoon, we head toward Lucerne — a charming city in central Switzerland, where we’ll stay for two nights.
Lucerne’s Old Town is known for its picturesque bridges like the Kapellbrücke and Spreuerbrücke, as well as its medieval architecture. We recommend a walk along the lakeside promenade, a visit to the Swiss Museum of Transport, and a trip up Mount Rigi, which offers panoramic views of the city and lake.
Another must-see is Richard Wagner Museum Lucerne, the villa where the composer lived and worked. This historic site was visited by many notable figures of the time — from artists to King Ludwig II of Bavaria.

One of the most beautiful peaks in Switzerland, offering 360° views of Lake Lugano, the Swiss Alps, and even the valleys of northern Italy. This iconic destination attracts nature lovers, hikers, and those interested in modern architecture.
Kapellbrücke is the oldest covered wooden bridge in Europe, decorated with paintings that depict scenes from Lucerne’s history.
Spreuerbrücke is another covered wooden bridge, known for its dramatic paintings on the theme of the “Dance of Death.”
The Tribschen villa, where Richard Wagner lived, is now a museum dedicated to the composer’s life and work.
Interlaken
The journey continues to Interlaken — a picturesque resort town nestled between Lake Thun and Lake Brienz, in the heart of the Swiss Alps. This town is famous for its breathtaking scenery, including majestic mountain peaks, crystal-clear lakes, and green meadows — making it a perfect destination for nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts.
In Interlaken, you can enjoy various water sports such as kayaking and canoeing on Lake Brienz, where calm waters are ideal for peaceful boat rides, or try windsurfing on Lake Thun, known for its favorable winds. For thrill-seekers, paragliding offers a chance to admire the stunning alpine landscapes from a bird’s-eye view.
Interlaken also offers plenty of activities for families — from strolls through charming town streets to visits to scenic parks and gardens. One of the top attractions is Harder Kulm, which you can reach by the Harderbahn funicular. On the way up, you'll be treated to spectacular views of the town, lakes, and surrounding mountains. At the top, a panoramic observation deck awaits — perfect for unforgettable photos.

Lake Thun is perfect for boat rides, swimming, and relaxing on the beach. The scenic villages along its shores offer cozy cafés and restaurants.
Lake Brienz is known for its emerald waters and picturesque landscapes. You can enjoy water sports such as kayaking and windsurfing, or take a peaceful boat trip.
Lauterbrunnen, Jungfraujoch
This day is dedicated to visiting one of the most breathtaking peaks in Switzerland — Jungfraujoch, also known as the "Top of Europe." The journey begins in Interlaken as we head to the charming village of Lauterbrunnen. From there, a scenic train ride to Jungfraujoch begins, passing through picturesque alpine villages and offering incredible views of the surrounding mountains and valleys.
The ride ends at an altitude of 3,454 meters, where you'll be greeted with panoramic views of the Alps, including the iconic peaks of Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau. At the top, there are many attractions for visitors — the Sphinx Observatory, a snow park, and sweeping alpine vistas. For those who enjoy active recreation, the snow park offers snowboarding and snow play. It's recommended to book your train tickets in advance and plan your time at the summit carefully.
Back in Lauterbrunnen, don’t miss a visit to the spectacular Staubbach Falls, one of the tallest waterfalls in Switzerland. A walk to the base of the falls offers unforgettable impressions and a chance to immerse yourself in nature in this scenic corner of the Alps.

This high-altitude station offers breathtaking views of the Alps, the Aletsch Glacier, and the surrounding peaks. Here you can visit the Ice Palace, the Sphinx Observatory, and take a walk across the snowy plateau.
Located near Lauterbrunnen, Staubbach Falls impresses with its height and beauty. The water drops nearly 300 meters, creating a truly dramatic natural spectacle.
For hiking enthusiasts, a short but scenic route leads to the Mönchsjochhütte mountain hut. The trail offers spectacular views of the surrounding mountains and glaciers.
Oeschinen Lake / Sion
Today’s route takes us to Oeschinen Lake, considered one of the most beautiful lakes in Switzerland. This scenic lake is located at an altitude of around 1,578 meters above sea level, surrounded by majestic Alpine peaks and green meadows. Its crystal-clear, bright blue water makes it a perfect place for relaxing and enjoying nature.
The road to the lake includes a ride through the mountains on the Lötschberg Tunnel car train — an experience in itself. Be sure to book the train in advance, especially during peak season. At the lake, you can explore hiking trails, have a picnic, or rent a boat.
As an alternative, you can visit the historic town of Sion, located not far from the lake. Sion is famous for its stunning castles, including Valère and Tourbillon.
In the evening, we arrive in Leukerbad.

Located in the Bernese Alps, Oeschinen Lake is known for its crystal-clear waters and breathtaking scenery. Visitors can enjoy hiking trails, have a picnic, or rent a boat to explore the lake.
Perched on a hill in the town of Sion, the Valère Basilica is a historic architectural landmark. You can visit the museum inside and enjoy panoramic views of the town below.
Situated on a nearby hill, Tourbillon Castle also offers beautiful views over Sion and the surrounding mountains.
Leukerbad
Leukerbad is a picturesque resort town in the Swiss Alps, famous for its thermal springs that attract visitors from around the world. Here you can unwind in thermal spas such as Leukerbad Therme and Walliser Alpentherme & Spa, which offer indoor and outdoor pools with hot mineral water, saunas, and wellness treatments.
For active travelers, Leukerbad offers plenty of options: scenic mountain hiking trails and diverse routes for mountain biking, allowing you to enjoy the stunning Alpine landscapes and fresh air. This resort perfectly blends relaxation and adventure, creating a unique atmosphere for rest.
In the afternoon, we head to Zermatt. It’s important to note that cars are not allowed in Zermatt. Campsites are located just one train stop away in the nearby village of Täsch.

Zermatt
Zermatt is a charming Alpine resort town in Switzerland, known for the majestic Matterhorn. It feels like a fairytale — cars are not allowed, and visitors get around on foot, by electric vehicles, or horse-drawn carriages. Take the Gornergrat Bahn train for breathtaking views of the Matterhorn and surrounding peaks.
Visit the Matterhorn Museum to learn about the history of mountaineering. For active travelers, there are hiking and biking trails, climbing routes, and paragliding options. In winter, Zermatt turns into a paradise for skiers and snowboarders. Enjoy local cuisine in cozy restaurants, and don’t forget to pick up a souvenir featuring the town’s iconic symbol — the Matterhorn.

Sunnegga
Another scenic viewpoint with a stunning view of the Matterhorn. It can be reached by funicular. Depending on your experience level, you can choose from several hiking trails: a gentle walk through the valley for beginners, or a steeper alpine route for seasoned hikers.
Lake Maggiore
After breakfast, we head to Lake Maggiore, located on the border between Switzerland and Italy. It’s one of the largest and most picturesque lakes in the Alps, attracting visitors with its stunning landscapes and rich history. The lake stretches about 65 kilometers and is surrounded by scenic mountains, green hills, and charming towns like Stresa and Locarno.
Lake Maggiore is known for its crystal-clear waters, ideal for swimming, sailing, and kayaking. It offers many opportunities for outdoor activities and discovering local culture. You can rent a boat to explore the Borromean Islands, visit the botanical gardens of Villa Taranto with its exotic plant collection, or take the funicular up to Mount Mottarone for sweeping views of the lake and the Alps.
The lake is also a great starting point for hikes and bike rides in the surrounding mountains, offering spectacular views and a unique connection with the region’s natural beauty.

The Borromean Islands — Isola Bella, Isola Madre, and Isola dei Pescatori — offer a unique chance to explore the region’s culture and history. Isola Bella features a lavish palace with beautiful gardens, Isola Madre is known for its botanical park, and Isola dei Pescatori is a charming fishing village.
Villa Taranto’s botanical garden, located near Verbania, boasts an incredible variety of plants from around the world. You’ll find rare flowers, exotic trees and shrubs, and picturesque walking paths through the park.
Take the funicular up Mount Mottarone for spectacular panoramic views of Lake Maggiore, seven surrounding lakes, and the snow-capped Alps. The area also offers great hiking and mountain biking trails.
Returning the Campervans
On the last day of the trip, we return the campervans to the rental center in Milan. It's recommended to leave early to avoid traffic and make it to your flight on time.
